I liked this piece of the work of Guimarães Rosa, I was thinking just like that...

"(...) Diz-que-direi ao senhor o que nem tanto é sabido:
sempre que se começa a ter amor a alguém,
no ramerrão, o amor pega e cresce
é porque, de certo jeito, a gente quer que isso seja,
e vai, na idéia, queredo e ajudando: mas, quando
é destino dado, maior que o miúdo,
a gente ama inteiriço, fatal, carecendo de querer,
e um só facear com as surpresas.
Amor desse cresce primeiro; brota é depois."

I'll try to translate it to english... it's a little hard coz there are poetic words in portoguese but I'll try anyway:

"(...) Tell-that-I'll tell you sir, what is not well known:
every time that we begin feel love by someone,
usually love goes and grow up
that's because, anyway, we want this happen,
and we go, in idea, wanting and helping: but, when
it's given destiny, bigger than the tiny.
we love pretty entire, fatal, needing desire,
and just one facing with surprises.
Love like this grows up first; springs up after."
